Dance Performance Response

I attended the Dance Majors’ Concert on Tuesday, May 25^th, 2004. This was one of my favorite UW performances this year as I was really quite impressed with everyone’s pieces. I learned after the show that the choreographers were not just involved with the movement and the dancers, but the lighting, sound, and other stage effects as well. The pieces were all different; the whole show included elements of ballet, modern, and even tap. Some pieces were light and airy; some were darker and heavier. The unique uses of stage combined with the dancers proved each piece to be intriguing in their its own way.
